Over the 2018-2019 Fiscal Year Camp Fire Helped Youth in Northwest Florida to GROW — SUCCEED — THRIVE.

Our programs include child development centers for ages one to 5, afterschool programs targeted to the elementary grades, and middle school enrichment programs. Camp Fire’s Teens in Action develops leadership in older youth. Our environmental education and day camp reach both youth and their families.

More than ever before we ask ourselves, “What role do we play?” We strive to be a place where youth come to feel safe and welcomed. We work to teach our youth ways to unlock personal success. We strive to advocate for them and help them lift their own voices in spite of these challenging times of harsh words and confusing messages.

Camp Fire will keep our Promise to be intentional about ways we lead. We can be the best advocate possible for children and families; indeed, we must be.

When kids have a stable web of developmental relationships in their lives, they do better in school, boost their social-emotional skills, take more personal responsibility and take fewer risks.

Camp Fire’s core program is held throughout the school year, in small clubs that meet weekly. Clubs are volunteer led. Camp Fire Clubs include the entire family, however that might be constituted. These clubs are characterized by intergenerational, inter-familial activities, as well as age-level club projects and activities for children led by trained volunteer adults. Volunteer adult use the standard age-level Camp Fire Club curriculum with participating boys and girls.

Volunteer-Led Clubs

Volunteer-led clubs use the Camp Fire curriculum, attend all Council sponsored events, and come together bi-monthly to learn and share from one another, in order to provide high quality programming for youth and to build strong cohesion as part of the Gulf Wind family.
